About CPCA
The Chinese
Professionals Club of Australia, Inc. (CPCA) is a non-profit, non-political
organisation established in Victoria, Australia in
February 1993. CPCA is made of people with Chinese background and
a tertiary qualification and who are currently working in Australia as professionals.
Currently we have over 600 members who work
predominantly in universities,
research and development institutions, industrial companies and government organisations.
A high proportion of our members also hold Doctorate Degrees obtained
from universities
around the world.
The
primary objectives of CPCA are to promote friendship and communication among
our
members, and to facilitate the exchange and cooperation between Australian
and Chinese organisations and individuals in the areas of science and
technology, culture, and economics. In line with these
objectives, our members will work towards further establishing
successful relationships between Chinese
industrial, educational and other organisations and their Australian counterparts.
Members of CPCA
have also enjoyed the various social activities
organised by the Club, including celebrations during major
Australian and Chinese holidays and festivals, family
weekend gathering, sight seeing, dancing, movies and
professional seminars. CPCA is also an active participant in "Clean Up
Australia Day" and other similar local activities. The Club publishes a
quarterly news bulletin titled "Rainbow" to
inform and update our members on upcoming activities, and
to maintain our ties within the Club.
CPCA is also looking to expand our member base. All
CPCA members come from Chinese backgrounds, possess at least a tertiary qualification
and are working in Australia as professionals or studying
towards their higher degree
of Masters or PhD.
